Dr. Karen Cearbaugh - Veterinarian

${name}

The part of the job that Dr. Karen Cearbaugh loves the most at Jones Bridge Animal Hospital is being able to meet so many dogs, cats, and animals of various kinds.

She is always happy to see our patients, giving out and receiving kisses, and making sure that their visits are as stress-free as possible. Dr. Cearbaugh utilizes low-stress handling techniques to gain trust and ensure that our patients have a comfortable experience.

"I enjoy building relationships and getting to know my clients and their pets. Nobody enjoys having blood drawn or being vaccinated, but if I can make the visit a little bit more enjoyable and less stressful, everyone benefits and my job is much more rewarding," proclaims Dr. Cearbaugh. "I still remember the first owner who told me that her dog used to be terrified to come to the vet, but that since I had become his doctor, he had lost his fear and practically dragged her through the door to see me!"

After attending North Forsyth High School, Dr. Cearbaugh decided to further her education by attending North Carolina State University. There she studied Zoology and graduated Suma Cum Laude in 1993, completing the University Scholar's Program. Dr. Cearbaugh stayed at North Carolina State University, pursuing her doctorate in veterinary medicine, and ultimately graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1997.

"I was fortunate enough to work for a fantastic vet while I was in high school. She was a tough boss, but an excellent mentor and I learned so much from her. She was one of the main influences in my becoming a veterinarian," says Dr. Cearbaugh. "I've worked in this field in some capacity for over 30 years! I have been a kennel attendant, a veterinary assistant, a receptionist, and even a groomer."

Dr. Cearbaugh offers a great deal of knowledge and expertise to our facility. Since joining our team in June of 2017, Dr. Cearbaugh has been able to demonstrate a keen understanding of veterinary medicine and has helped many of our patients come to better health.

At home, Dr. Cearbaugh enjoys spending her time with her loving family. Her husband, Michael, is the owner of a hardwood flooring company, and her daughter Lily, is a senior at Chattahoochee High School. In her free time, Dr. Cearbaugh enjoys paddle boarding, yoga, hiking, cooking, and reading.
